It’s been a busy week for post-apocalyptic content creators! In this installment of the weekly YouTube round-up, we have a whole bunch of great offerings in the genre, including a couple movie trailers, a full movie, a game review, some costuming techniques, a LARP, and much more!

Bitumen Dirt Effect for Post-Apocalyptic Costume Making
Let’s start off with this post-apocalyptic costuming tutorial from Bloodshot Belle Creations. This video shows some useful techniques for distressing your costume with Bitumen, just in time for Halloween! No, I refuse to acknowledge that Halloween is cancelled.

Escape from FORT1 – A post-apocalyptic vlog
This video is a sample of a LARP (Live Action Role Play) event in Stockholm, Sweden this summer where folks assume the roles of post-apocalyptic survivors in a live action setting.

Deadside Game Review
Deadside is a game that released in April of this year where the object is to survive against other players in an open world environment. Unlike most games of this genre, this one has no zombies! So in this video, Eric Faries takes us through his favorite parts of the game and shows off its best features.

RUNAWAY – Post-Apocalyptic Film Trailer
Alexander Kolosovski shows off the trailer for his latest animated film project entitled Runaway. The description of the movie sounds enticing: “The event takes place in a distant future when civilization as we know it has been ended by a nuclear holocaust. This, however, has not ended the war for those who lived through. Though equipped with the remnants of technology, they are facing the same challenges as their ancestors.”

Who wants to go to a post-apocalyptic-themed haunted house? This guy! City of Aftermath is the latest theme to hit the Lake Hickory Haunts in Lake Hickory, North Carolina, and this teaser video really makes it look like a lot of fun. LOVE AND MONSTERS Official trailer (2020)
This trailer for Love and Monsters gets me excited for the release of the full movie on October 16th of this year. If you like flicks about young love and a rampaging monster apocalypse, you’ll want to check this one out. Though low budget, the acting looks quite impressive.

We Are Wasteland 2020 LIVE Celebration
Wasteland Weekend was supposed to be enjoying its 11th year this week, but the real apocalypse messed that up. So instead, The Apocalypse Post livestreamed a special 2-hour celebration of the best of the best from previous years of the highly popular desert event.

Shawn has been infatuated with the post-apocalyptic genre since he wore out his horribly American-dubbed VHS of the original Mad Max as a child. Shawn is the former Editor-in-Chief at Massively.com, creator of the Aftermath post-apocalyptic immersion event, and author of "AI For All," a guide to navigating this strange new world of artificial intelligence.
He currently resides on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere with his wife and four children.
