YouTube Roundup

It’s amazing to me that every single week there are always a handful of new post-apocalyptic indie movie trailers or short films. This is such great news for the genre! This week’s round-up has three of those trailers and short films, a board game review, and one of the best Gaslands car builds I’ve ever seen. Enjoy!

2065  — Post-Apocalyptic Short Film
This super short film is only 1 minute long, but it’s beautifully shot and contains what I think is a good, simple message. Think of it as the appetizer for the rest of this list.

Girl with No Mouth Trailer (NEW 2020)
This trailer is all over YouTube this week, and for good reason. It tells the tail of a group of children, all with varying deformities that resulted from “toxic explosion,” going out on an adventure. What is that adventure? It’s not clear from the trailer, but it looks intense.

The Few and Cursed Review – Post Apocalyptic Western
BoardGameCo is back on this list reviewing another quality post-apocalyptic board game. This time around it’s The Few and Cursed, which is based on a comic of the same name. BGC calls it “simple, accessible, and yet engaging as well, giving you solid gameplay and fun choices as you slowly level up to the point where you can truly defeat the monsters of this world.”

Gaslands: Project Goliath The Post-Apocalyptic Monster Limo of Destruction
This is the second part of Wasteland Games’ big Project Goliath monster Limo build for the Gaslands tabletop game. This one shows off the final product, which will blow you away if you’re into post-apocalyptic car builds — small scale or otherwise!

Alice in Borderland | Official Trailer #2 | Netflix
The second teaser trailer for Netflix’s Alice in Borderland dropped yesterday, and we’re excited to see more about the life-or-death game that the characters must endure, as well as more fleshed-out on the characters themselves. Alice in Borderland will be coming to Netflix on December 10th of this year.

Shawn has been infatuated with the post-apocalyptic genre since he wore out his horribly American-dubbed VHS of the original Mad Max as a child. Shawn is the former Editor-in-Chief at Massively.com, creator of the Aftermath post-apocalyptic immersion event, and author of "AI For All," a guide to navigating this strange new world of artificial intelligence.
He currently resides on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere with his wife and four children.
