Russian post-apocalyptic games have been very popular for many years, but for some reason this week is overflowing with gameplay videos that highlight several new releases. So if games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and the Metro series are your forte, you’ll definitely enjoy this week’s round-up. And if not, there are a couple non-game-related videos as well! OK, maybe just one.
Tunguska The Visitation – Soviet Post Apocalyptic Top Down Survival
SplatterCat is checking out a brand new post-apoc zombie-shooter indie game called Tunguska The Visitation, which is a top-down survival game set in a post-apocalyptic Russia. It looks to be good mix of classic Fallout and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games with a heavy focus on story.
This Post-Apocalyptic Stalker-like MMO Looks INSANE! – Introducing “Pioner”
The latest flavor-of-the-week indie game this week is Pioner. No, that’s not a typo. Pioner is a gorgeous survival MMORPG that is another throwback to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games with some Metro thrown in. This BigFryTV video is probably the most popular review, but if you’re interested in learning more about the game, do a search on YouTube to find dozens more impressions videos. I have a feeling this game will be a bit of a hit.
FiveM Post-Apocalyptic Server
GTAV is one of my all-time favorite games, and the mod server community is unmatched. This FiveM mod server sets the player in a post-apocalyptic world of 2051, all while enjoying the gameplay and mechanics of GTAV. The player-made models and environments are really impressive and this livestream from Survival of the Fittest shows off some of the best parts of the private server.
Fight Mutants in a Post-Apocalyptic Survival Game! – Will To Live Online
Another indie MMORPG featured this week is Will to Live Online, a post-apocalyptic survival game that looks similar to Fallen Earth. If you’re looking for a classic MMO formula in a post-apoc environment, you might want to check this one out.
UE4 Prototype – Post Apocalyptic Hover Bike Shooter
This voxel art sidescroller looks like it will be fun once it’s released. This short video is just a proof of concept from the creator, but it shows promise!
Ranking 13 Post-Apocalyptic Novels
And finally, you’ve come this far to find the only video that has nothing to do with video games! Er… it does have some visuals from Minecraft, but I promise it’s not about games. This one is an impressive collection of in-depth reviews for 13 novels that YouTuber Black Moonlight read in 13 weeks (a book a week!). It’s definitely a great listen if you’re interested in finding a new post-apocalyptic or dystopian book to read.
