This week’s YouTube Round-up features quite a bit of variety, which always makes me happy. We have a few gameplay videos as usual, but we’re mixing it up with a short story read, a wastelander miniature painting tutorial, a really impressive short film, and a trailer for a full-length film that just released last week.
New Footage from The Day Before
The IGN Fan Fest last weekend showed off some exclusive new in-game footage of a game that’s on our radar: The Day Before. This video is a review of that footage with commentary. Let’s hope the finished game looks as good as this footage!
The Guardian of the Exit | A Post-Apocalypse Short Story
I’ve featured Magnetar on one of these round-ups before because I appreciate the way he reads short stories with such enthusiasm. This read is of a story on Reddit called The Guardian of the Exit from user Complexima.
Post-Apocalyptic Horror Game Lifeling Played with No Commentary
As the video’s description reads, “Lifeling is a pixel art horror adventure which take a story of Noah, a boy from a barren post apocalyptic world venture on a dangerous places, looking for answers.”
Easy Post-Apocalypse Wastelanders Tutorial – How I Paint Things
Sonic Sledgehammer Studio shows off some of his painting techniques on this resin wastelander miniature, complete with weathering and even grass effect.
We Bleed Rivers — Short Film
This one is a gorgeous Belgian short film that was directed and produced by Alexandra Kukoljac. It features some great cinematography and acting considering what otherwise looks to be a low-budget short film.
Armageddon Tales Movie (2021) Official Trailer
This teaser shows off a film that completely escaped our radar with its release on February 22nd. The synopsis reads: “After surviving a worldwide pandemic, two men with different agendas, two women from a survival colony, and young girl and a man each form alliances as they cross post-apocalyptic landscapes.” You can also check out a good review of the movie here.
