Yakamoz S-245 is a new series about a group of marine biologist researchers who hitch a ride with an aggressive crew on a military submarine to survive a solar apocalypse. The catch? They must not kill each other in the process.

The eight-part Turkish thriller explores the idea that the end of the world may be caused by the sun and any exposure to it will result in death. A direct spin-off of another Netflix series called Into the Night, the main characters must do all they can to avoid any sunlight. In this case, it’s on an old submarine called the Yakamoz S-245 that was just about to enjoy retirement in a scrapyard before this whole apocalypse thing happened.

“This was supposed to be Yakamoz’s last mission,” the trailer explains in Turkish with subtitled English. “But it became Noah’s Ark.”

While the researchers are trying to play nice with the submarine’s crew, they’re discovering a conspiracy that stirs things up for everyone.

Directed by Tolga Karaçelik and Umut Aral, the show stars Kivanç Tatlitug as Arman and Özge Özpirinçci as Defne.

Yakamoz S-245 premieres exclusively on Netflix tomorrow, April 20, 2022.
