Chainsaw Man will premiere on Crunchyroll on October 11. But the highly anticipated anime is getting an early premiere at MAPPA’s big event on Monday, September 19. Here’s how to watch the event online, including an embedded video later in this story, links, and more details.

The Event Occurs Early in the Morning on September 19

If you’re wanting to watch live, the event will air early in the morning on Monday, September 19, in U.S. time zones. In the Central time zone, we’re expecting to see it at 6 a.m. Central. In other time zones, that’s roughly 7 a.m. Eastern, 5 a.m. Mountain, and 4 a.m. Pacific. (But see the note in the next sentence below please!)

According to MAPPA’s YouTube description, the event is happening at approximately 20:00 Japanese time (tentatively) and will last for 30 minutes. But it’s worth noting that their website says it’s starting tentatively at 19:30 in one place, and 20:00 in another. So you might want to tune in 30 minutes to an hour early, just to make sure you don’t miss anything.

You can also click “notify me” in the video in the section below if you want YouTube to let you know when the video goes live.

The cast will be present, including Kikunosuke Toya (role of Denji), Tomori Kusunoki (role of Makima), Shogo Sakata (role of Aki), Ai Fairouz (role of Power), Ryu Nakayama (director), and Crystal Noda (MC).

MAPPA has also said that the event will provide a screener of the very first Chainsaw Man anime episode, and we’ll also see the opening and closing songs. However, it’s unclear if this part is going to be included in the live stream. MAPPA’s description notes that the “stage greetings” will be live-streamed and the “main story will not be distributed.”

So this seems to indicate that we’ll hear commentary from the cast during the live stream, but not the anime episode itself. As for the opening and closing song, that remains to be seen.

The official Chainsaw Man Twitter also noted that there were concerns about a typhoon impacting the event, but at this time it is still scheduled to happen.

Here is the biggest news. You can watch MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man event live (or after the fact) right here in the embedded link below.

Since this is an official event with a live stream video, we’re hoping it will include English subtitles for people who don’t speak Japanese. However, that’s not guaranteed.

What we do know is that this isn’t the last big Chainsaw Man event before the premiere on October 11.

According to Anime News Network, the English dub of the episode will be released early on October 7 at 12:45 p.m. Eastern at the New York Comic Con, which takes place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on the Empire Stage. On October 11, the anime will premiere on Crunchyroll, TV Tokyo, and Amazon Prime Video.

Crunchyroll notes: “Featuring a conversation with the voice actors for Denji, Makima, Aki, and Power, as well as the exclusive US PREMIERE of the first episode dubbed!”
