Today’s TWD Daryl Dixon Finale is available for AMC+ subscribers, and will soon hit AMC’s screen for those of us who don’t mind waiting. Episode 6, called Coming Home, will air tonight at 9PM Eastern on AMC. The first season is ending, however, Daryl’s story is just beginning as it continues for a second season with one of The Walking Dead’s fan-favorite: Carol. This news comes as a welcomed surprise for fans of the series. Let’s take a look at some of the details about The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.

Daryl Dixon Season 2 – The Book of Carol

Melissa McBride announced during ComicCon that she will join the TWD family once again as Carol in season 2 of Daryl Dixon. “I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away. Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries,” she said in a video announcement during a The Walking Dead Panel. Season 2 had already been announced this past July, however, knowing that McBride will join the crew once again is an absolute treat for fans of the series.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the Book of Carol will premier in 2024. McBride is poised to make her inaugural appearance as the character Daryl Dixon during the highly-anticipated season one finale, a momentous event that was already revealed at the New York Comic Con (NYCC) this past Thursday.

In the most recent appearance of Carol, we observed her ascend to a prominent leadership role in The Commonwealth, effectively replacing Governor Pamela Milton. She seemed to relish her newfound responsibilities and position. It also appeared that there might be a chance for reconciliation between Carol and her former romantic partner, King Ezekiel (portrayed by Khary Payton). Whether they rekindled their relationship or not is likely to remain a well-guarded secret as the story of Daryl Dixon unfolds.

During the last episode of The Walking Dead, viewers watched as a teary-eyed Carol bid farewell to Daryl as he embarked on a quest to find Rick and Michonne. And that was it! We have no information regarding her presence in this next season, so all we can do at this point until we have more information, is to speculate.

In addition to Reedus and McBride, the cast of “Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol” includes other talented actors such as Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi, and Eriq Ebouaney. The series is under the executive production of McBride, Reedus, Kang, showrunner Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, the mastermind behind the TWDverse, as well as Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman, and Steve Squillante.

New Records for The Walking Dead

Daryl Dixon is steadily making its way to secure the title of the most-watched single series on AMC’s streaming platform, AMC+. Notably, the show has achieved the remarkable feat of being among the top 15 cable dramas for the year. As for the highly-anticipated season two, which has been aptly rebranded as “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol,” it is currently in the production stages in France, with plans for a grand premiere set for the year 2024.

AMC Networks posted that after three weeks of streaming data, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” has surpassed “The Walking Dead: Dead City” to claim the title of the number one most-viewed premiere in the history of AMC+. What’s even more remarkable is that it is on track to become the most-viewed season of any show in AMC+ history. The latest milestone was reached when the fourth episode of season one aired on a Sunday, delivering the highest ratings of the season in terms of total viewers and both key demographics, marking the culmination of three consecutive weeks of increasing viewership.

“What a thrill to have this most recent installment in The Walking Dead Universe arrive to set records on AMC+ and deliver steady viewership growth over its first four weeks on AMC,” said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “Thanks to Norman Reedus for bringing his ‘bad decisions’ to France, to David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Clémence Poésy and the rest of the outstanding cast and to the most passionate and committed fans in entertainment. There is so much more and so many great surprises to come for this show and across this expanding universe.”
