After the major cliffhangers and unanswered questions that rounded out the end of “Chicago,” fans are counting down the days to The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 6. We already have the Israeli trailer that wasn’t publicly released in the U.S., along with another sneak peek that was unexpectedly dropped, a description for the episode, and more.
These trailers reveal storylines and spoilers for #TheHandmaidsTale Season 4 Episode 6. Share on XThis article has minor spoilers for The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 6, along with major spoilers for how Episode 5 ended.
The New Episode Is Called ‘Vows’
When Season 4 Episode 5 ended, Janine was still missing after Gilead bombed part of Chicago just before the ceasefire started. In the midst of the smoke and rubble, June found herself face-to-face with Moira.
The synopsis for this next episode reads: “After a shocking reunion with a dear friend, June contemplates the possibility of freedom, and confronts the unfulfilled promises she’s made to herself and to Luke.”
This is the official synopsis released by Hulu.
Hulu’s Trailer
First, here’s the official trailer from Hulu.
The beginning of the trailer is heartbreaking. We see June still calling for Janine, not able to find her anywhere. So it looks like we won’t learn Janine’s fate right away, unfortunately. 🙁
And it looks like, once again, June is going to have an opportunity to leave Gilead but she’ll be torn because she doesn’t want to leave without Hannah.
I’m not on board for June staying in Gilead, but we’ll see what happens. As we wrote in our review of Episode 5, June’s a liability to the cause in Gilead now, more than a help. Gilead knows they just have to threaten Hannah and June will tell them whatever they want to know. Everyone will be better off if June goes to Canada and works from that side. But we’ll see what happens.
A small clip was also shared on Kimmel when Samira Wiley was on. It expands a little on a moment from the Hulu trailer. The clip begins at the very end of the video below.
Once Again, the Israeli Trailer Reveals More
Once again, the Israeli trailer reveals a lot more about what to expect than the Hulu trailer.
According to the Israeli trailer, it looks like June does decide to leave. However, it appears they weren’t intending to take anyone but were going to leave all the Gilead refugees in some kind of camp, so June had to be snuck out. There’s a lot of fallout as they debate whether they should return her or not.
It looks like this is going to be an incredibly intense episode. I’m hoping that by the time it ends, we finally have June in Canada and can see the fallout that happens from that decision. I’d love to see June face off with the Waterfords now that they’re under guard and she’s free.
