Not only were we here at the site anticipating the new survival MMO The Day Before to release this year but it is currently the most wishlisted game on Steam. Unfortunately, fans will need to wait another year for the game to release.

The Day Before is an open-world MMO set in a post-pandemic America where you not only fight the infected, but you also battle against the survivors who are struggling to survive themselves. The game’s trailers have so far shown off tactical firefights with realistic weapons, detailed driving mechanics, waves of infected, crafting, base-building, and community safe hubs where you can trade and socialize with other players.

The trailers have been so impressive that many fans of the genre have even suspected that the game is too good to be true. Some have even gone so far as to call it a scam.

The Day Before was originally slated for a June 21, 2022 release date but the recent news has developer Fntastic pushing for March 1, 2023 instead. Here’s what they said in their official press release to IGN:

“Millions of people have added The Day Before to their wishlist, making The Day Before one of the most anticipated games in the world.

“Feeling and understanding the great responsibility that we face, with enormous gratitude in our hearts, were pleased to announce that The Day Before is switching to the new Unreal Engine 5 technology! The transition to a more advanced and adapted open worlds engine, will make the gameplay of The Day Before even more fantastic.

“In this regard, we inform you that the new release date of the game will be March 1st, 2023.”

So let’s hope this switch to the improved Unreal Engine 5 will pay off for Fntastic and publisher Mytona.
