The animated Pacific Rim: The Black was originally created with two seasons in mind, so the second season was no surprise, but the latest trailer shows how the story will progress after the cliffhanger final episode last year.

Pacific Rim: The Black enjoyed mainly positive reviews for its first season, which premiered in March of 2021. The first seven episodes of Season 1 told the story of teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley Travis who find an old abandoned Jaeger (giant pilot-able robot) which they use to search for the parents they haven’t seen in over five years.

According to our own Tina Beier’s write-up of the series, “There were many unanswered mysteries from Season 1 intended to keep us waiting for Season 2.” Luckily for fans, Tina detailed many of those questions and explained more about the series (with spoilers).

With the release of a brand new trailer this week, we see more of Hayley, Taylor, Mei, and Boy, but we also see new enemies they must face on their journey through a devastated Australia.

Pacific Rim: The Black Season 2 will hit Netflix on April 19.
