Good news for those who just can’t get enough of The Walking Dead. Not only will we have many spin-offs coming our way, but AMC just ordered More Tales from the Walking Dead (working title), which is a new series following last year’s Tales of the Walking Dead. Here’s what we know so far.
More Tales From the Walking Dead on AMC
AMC has confirmed that the show will soon start production, and commicbook.com reports that the cable provider made the announcement on Monday that they would be producing the new six-part short-form scripted series. The series will take place in the ever-expanding realm of The Walking Dead Universe. The Walking Dead: World Beyond, a limited series spin-off, and Tales of the Walking Dead, a six-episode anthology spin-off series, are both under the direction of Scott M. Gimple, the chief creative officer of AMC’s The Walking Dead Universe. Scott M. Gimple is also in charge of the project’s supervision for AMC’s Content Room.
The official statement from AMC on Tales reads: “More Tales from the TWDU (working title)– A six-part shortform scripted series taking place in the expanding world of The Walking Dead Universe. This will be overseen by TWDU creative head Scott Gimple.”

What to Expect From the New Series?
Last year, Tales from the Walking Dead followed stories from characters we used to love, and new ones alike, in their daily survivalist struggles against walkers. From Alpha’s backstory to Terry Crews’ lovable new character, viewers fell in love with the limited series. In the very first episode, viewers were led on a journey in the guise of a road trip story, in which a hermit prepper (Terry Crews) departs his bunker in search of a female survivalist from his past. This adventure takes place in the very first episode. Along the way, he meets an unusual friend (played by Olivia Munn) who is the polar opposite of him in every aspect. They formed a group in order to search for their lost loved ones and end up being successful in their mission.
The episodes were free to watch on AMC’s YouTube channel, but have since been removed to be made available on AMC+ only.
Having said all that, we’re probably going to meet new and old characters this time around as well. What would be great is if one of those stories would also coincide with one of the many new spin-offs. How about a story of Hershel’s connection with the many people surrounding his life? Or even maybe a story that would be a “what if” type of situation. What if Glenn had lived? A whole episode of how life would be different for Maggie. That would be pretty amazing to see.
The American horror drama anthology television series Tales of the Walking Dead was developed by Scott M. Gimple and Channing Powell. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world. It is the fourth television series within The Walking Dead brand and is a spin-off to The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic book series of the same name written by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The Walking Dead: Michonne is the fourth television series within The Walking Dead franchise and is a spin-off to The Walking Dead.
Between the 14th of August and the 18th of September in 2022, episodes of Tales of the Walking Dead were shown on AMC.
