The night is dark and full of terrors, and the same can be said for every episode of the final season of Game of Thrones. That’s why a lot of people will be looking to drinking games and Game of Thrones cocktails and drinks for support. Here are some great beverages, drinks, cocktails, and drinking games for an epic watch party.
Note: Post Apocalyptic Media has posted a series of stories about watch party ideas. You can find ideas at the following links for food, decorations, games, and party favors. Bingo cards from Season 7 can inspire you for Season 8. See 70 party ideas here.
Game of Thrones Beers
There are a lot of different angles you can take with Game of Thrones themed beer. These $2 printable beer labels will both delight your guests and reveal their true loyalties. They’re available from Etsy as a digital download for just $2.
There is also an officially licensed Game of Thrones beer you can buy from Ommegang called For the Throne, which is 9.5 % ABV golden ale with pinot grigio and viognier grape juices bottled with champagne yeast.

Another option is a Mother of Dragons themed beer.

The two most popular wines in Westeros are Dornish Red and Arbor Gold. You can always get your own compatible wine and label it accordingly. There’s the Dornish Red Sour Label.
Or the Dornish Red and Arbor Gold Matching Labels.
Individual labels for printing:
Dornish Red, Arbor Gold, and two other labels for $5.
But in a pinch, just do the best you can.
Mead is basically wine made with honey instead of grapes. It is delicious and wonderfully period appropriate. I heartily suggest your stock up on mead for your party. I know I will.
Of course, you’ll want glasses so why not House Pint Glasses, as suggested by RetailMeNot’s Shopping and Trends expert Sara Skirboll? The perfect set of glasses for your guests that “drink and know things”! Save $10 on your order of $30 or more at Hot Topic when you use this code.
Skirboll also recommends these coasters from Target. Have guests choose their house coaster as a way to declare their loyalty (and a way to keep those tables clean!) Get deals like $5 Off $50 Select Items + Free Shipping when you purchase from Target.
Cocktails & Themed Drinks
Straight Vodka tastes terrible, so soak it into gummy bears instead. Another idea is to put green Jello Vodka shots into mason jars and label it “Wildfire”. It should look something like this.
Drinking Games
Do you need a drinking game for this year’s season of Game of Thrones? Below you’ll find Post Apocalyptic Media’s pre-made drinking game for season seven of Game of Thrones. Feel free to print and distribute liberally. Of course, since this was made for Season 7, you’ll want to make some tweaks to make it relevant for Season 8. We ran out of time to do that ourselves. 🙁 The only thing you’ll need to change is the Littlefinger reference. To make changes, just download the original Photoshop file and change it up!
Reddit has also come up with some amazing drinking games for Season 8.
Redditor u/jklages24 shared a drinking game just a couple days ago for Season 8. It’s more complicated than your average drinking game but fun:
[NO SPOILERS] The Iron Throne Drinking Game from gameofthrones
Then Redditor u/IShouldGoPro made one for season 8 too.
[SPOILERS] I made a drinking game for the last season from gameofthrones
Or you could just drink every time a Lannister does.
And if you need inspiration, just check out this post from a previous season for even more great Game of Thrones drinking games.
Remember, if you drink while watching an episode, don’t drink and drive. Post Apocalyptic Media recommends calling an Uber or Lyft instead.
