If you watched Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 15, Amina, on AMC+ or on TV, then you’re likely wondering if Alycia Debnam-Carey left the show permanently. Is this her last episode? Did Alicia die? We’ve got all the details below, including a showrunner’s official answer. However, you’re entering major spoiler territory if you haven’t watched FTWD S7E15 yet.

This Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 15 story has MAJOR spoilers below for how the episode ends and Alicia’s future on the show.

A Showrunner Has Officially Revealed if Alycia Debnam-Carey Left the Show

AMC + (also referred to as AMC Plus), the premium streaming service, has a video that follows Season 7 Episode 15 called Episode Insider. In that video, showrunner Andrew Chambliss officially reveals if this is Alycia Debnam-Carey’s final episode on the series. And at this time, the answer is yes. This was Alycia’s last episode and she is, indeed, leaving the series.

It’s a blow, since fans really wanted to see Alicia and Madison meet up. But this was her last episode.

Chambliss said on Episode Insider: “It was very difficult to write Alicia’s last episode and to say goodbye to her both as a character, and then also say goodbye to Alycia Debnam-Carey as an actor because she’s been such an integral part of the show from the very beginning, but it’s something that we’ve been working towards for a while and something we’ve been working towards very closely with Alycia.”

You can see a clip from the Insider Episode where Chambliss explains this here.

A preview for the next episode reveals that Madison will arrive next week, which further heightens the sadness of seeing Alicia leave literally one week before we would finally get to see her mom return. So that long-awaited reunion won’t be happening.

Did Alicia Die in S7E15?

Although Alycia Debnam-Carey has left the show, the good news is that her character Alicia did not die. At least, that’s how the show portrayed her ending. I still personally can’t help but wonder if we saw some kind of end-of-life hallucination for Alicia. But that’s only because her final moments on the show didn’t make much sense.

But in a nutshell, Alicia thinks she’s going to die and that the zombie bite is finally going to take her out, so she decides not to get on a raft with the rest of the group and possibly kill Strand if she dies and turns. After everyone is gone, though, she wakes up after passing out yet again and feels like she’s finally completely healed. Her fever is gone. So with renewed strength, she walks away.

This leaves things open-ended for Alycia to return as Alicia one day in the future if she wants. Her character did not die. But she’s also not going to have an easy time, because she was left in an irradiated landscape that all her friends fled. They didn’t think survival was possible.

So really, it’s up to your imagination to decide whether or not Alicia will live in the weeks and months to come. But as we learned from Madison, a character on the show is never truly dead unless we see their reanimated body.

In summary: Alicia is not dead. She lived through Season 7 Episode 15. But Alycia Debnam-Carey, on the other hand, has left the show and this was her last episode. So we likely won’t see Alicia again, unless Alycia changes her mind in a future season.
