The last installment in the Evangelion movie series is finally almost here. But exactly what time can you watch Evangelion:3.01+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time on Amazon Prime? If you’re seeing posts about the movie being available but you can’t see it yet yourself, here’s why.

Evangelion:3.0+1.0 Premieres on Friday, August 13 – But the Time Varies Based on Your Time Zone
Once it’s available in the United States, the new Evangelion movie can be watched at this link.
If you’re seeing people posting about watching the movie, it’s because it released in their country, but it may not yet be available in yours. For example, three hours before this story published, someone on Reddit posted that the movie is “now available on Amazon Prime Video.” However, this was only accurate in New Zealand and Australia at the time their post was published.
If you’re waiting for the movie to be released on Amazon Prime in the United States, then you’ll likely need to wait until midnight Pacific at the latest. Typically, Amazon Prime releases its movies in the United States simultaneously on release day at 12 a.m. Pacific, which translates to 1 a.m. Mountain, 2 a.m. Central, and 3 a.m. Eastern. However, it’s worth noting that this isn’t a set-in-stone time. In the United States, Amazon Prime has been known to sometime release a movie the night before it’s official release date. So even though it’s supposed to release the new Evangelion movie at 12 a.m. Pacific on Friday, August 13, there’s a chance it will release the movie sometime tonight on Thursday, August 12. Your best bet is to periodically go back and refresh Amazon’s Evangelion:3.0+1.01 page here to see if the movie is out yet today. (I can say personally, as a journalist, there have been quite a few times that I’ve reported on a hyped movie or TV show’s release date on Amazon, only to find that Amazon jumped the gun and released it a few hours early the night before, frequently around 8 p.m. Eastern the day before the official release date.)
The movie is also available in other forms online, since it already released in Japan on March 8, breaking records and become the highest-grossing franchise in Japan, Crunchyroll shared. This was after its release was delayed twice because of the pandemic.
The Movie Is Being Released in 240 Countries
Amazon Prime’s version is releasing in 240 countries, and the version in the U.S. will include English subtitles or an English dub, Crunchyroll said.
In a press release, Amazon shared that it’s also releasing the three previous movies on August 13 to celebrate.
The synopsis for the new movie reads: “The fourth and final instalment of the Rebuild of Evangelion. Misato and her anti-Nerv group Wille arrive in Paris, a city now red from core-ization. Crew from the flagship Wunder land on a containment tower. They only have 720 seconds to restore the city. When a horde of Nerv Evas appear, Mari’s improved Eva Unit 8 must intercept. Meanwhile, Shinji, Asuka, and Rei (provisional name) wander around Japan.”
