Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 14, “Savagery,” is delayed. This will probably be one of the most intense episodes yet, considering how last week ended. Here are all the details on when Season 4 Episode 14 will drop in the U.S. (the subtitled version).

UPDATE: Season 4 Episode 14 (aka Episode 73) was delayed due to an earthquake. See more below about what happened.

The Episode Has Been Delayed

We’re really sad to report that Sunday’s episode has been delayed. Funimation announced that due to an earthquake in Japan, this week’s new sub won’t be airing and has been delayed.

Facebook

Funimation wrote: “Attack on Titan fans, heads up! Due to an earthquake in Japan, Attack on Titan Final Season episode 73 will not be airing today. We’ll keep you all updated on the new release date as we know more. Note: The English dub of episode 68 will still be released later today, as usual.”

Crunchyroll’s social media site shared more details about what is happening right now.

Crunchryoll wrote: “Attack on Titan Final Season episode 73 will be postponed, due to a earthquake that occurred in Wakayama prefecture in Japan. We are sending our love to the residents there.”

Volcano Discovery reported that the earthquake which delayed Attack on Titan is a magnitude 4.7 that struck near Wakayama. This site is noting that the quake shouldn’t cause significant damage, thankfully, although we’ll have to wait for more details to know for sure.

This is near the town of Yuasa, Nippon reported. A tsunami is not expected, so that is one thing to be grateful for.

Please keep the people of Japan in your thoughts and prayers.

The good news is that Funimation has said the new episode AND the episode after that will BOTH air on March 21! Learn more here

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 14 Normally Airs Sunday Afternoon, March 14, But Is Delayed

Here in the United States, you could typically watch the English sub for Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 14 (aka Episode 73) on Sunday, March 14 at 2:45 p.m. Central (3:45 p.m. Eastern/12:45 p.m. Pacific/1:45 p.m. Mountain.) In Honolulu, Hawaii, that’s Sunday at 10:45 a.m. In Anchorage, Alaska, that’s Sunday at 11:45 a.m. So if you’re in the continental U.S., set aside your Sunday afternoon for the new episode.

However, today’s episode is delayed due to an earthquake. So although the times above are normally when it would air, it’s not clear when the new episode will air.

The only places you can watch are Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. We’ll have details on links to where you can go to watch the episode in the last section of this story. If any of these places do not have the episode right at 3:45 p.m. Eastern, then it’s likely just briefly delayed and will be dropping any minute.

Japan’s Version, Without Subtitles, Drops a Few Hours Before the U.S.

Don’t worry if you see spoilers floating around before 3:45 p.m. Eastern, if you’re watching in the United States. The version in Japan, without subtitles, drops hours before the U.S. So people are definitely going to be tweeting and posting about the episode as soon as it airs. The original Japanese version without subtitles drops as 12:10 a.m. JST (Japan time.) So you might be better off just avoiding social media until you can see it yourself.

(Please note: Although the above information is typically true, Japan’s version also has not aired due to the earthquake, and has been delayed.)

The English Dub of Episode 14 Premieres Later

While the English sub is premiering on March 14, the English dub for Episode 14 will premiere about a month from now. Because of the ice storm in Texas, the release of Season 4 Episode 9’s English dub was delayed until March 14. Read more about what happened in our story here. So that means it’ll be quite a while before you can see the English dub for this week’s Episode 14.

How to Watch Season 4 Episode 14 Online

Last week left us with a crazy cliffhanger. Eren showed up at Nicolo’s restaurant after the Jaegerists took Hange and the rest of her crew captive. Armin had just told Gabi that Marley is all about killing one person or another, just like someone else he knows (referring to Eren.) And at that moment, Eren casually strolled in, overhearing what Armin said, and mentioned that he wanted to talk. He showed Armin and Mikasa that his hand was cut (which might have been foreshadowed in the Season 3 opening.)

Before this, we learned that Nicolo believed the wine served to the high-ranking military officials might have been spiked to turn people into Titans when Zeke yells out to them. This also cast doubt on the story Zeke told Levi and others about how he overtook Connie’s village.

We also saw Sasha’s father extend unprecedented forgiveness to Gabi, breaking a cycle of destruction and hate and hopefully influencing Gabi’s heart. Mikasa also stepped in to save Gabi’s life, despite Gabi killing her close friend. All of this might influence Gabi (hopefully faster than their friendship influenced Reiner, who is still pushing for  Marley to attack Paradis immediately.)

We also saw that Pieck is already embedded in Paradis, and that is a BAD sign.

So with the crazy Eren cliffhanger, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
