The Attack on Titan episode we were expecting to watch today (Season 4 Episode 14) which was going to resolve a huge cliffhanger involving Eren from last week, has been delayed. Funimation made the announcement on social media that the episode is delayed due to an earthquake in Japan, and a new release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Funimation wrote: “Attack on Titan fans, heads up! Due to an earthquake in Japan, Attack on Titan Final Season episode 73 will not be airing today. We’ll keep you all updated on the new release date as we know more. Note: The English dub of episode 68 will still be released later today, as usual.”

This is the second time that a natural disaster has delayed a Season 4 episode. Last week, the Episode 68 dub was delayed because of the ice storm in Texas that knocked out power for millions. More than 40 people died in Texas alone as a result of the storms, according to early reports. Post Apocalyptic Media reported on the delay and the ice storm here.

Now another episode is delayed, this time the sub in Japan due to another natural disaster.

Crunchyroll’s social media site shared more details about what was happening.

Crunchryoll wrote: “Attack on Titan Final Season episode 73 will be postponed, due to a earthquake that occurred in Wakayama prefecture in Japan. We are sending our love to the residents there.”

According to Volcano Discovery, the earthquake is a magnitude 4.7 that struck near Wakayama. This site is noting that the quake shouldn’t cause significant damage, thankfully, although we’ll have to wait for more details to know for sure.

This is near the town of Yuasa, Nippon reported. A tsunami is not expected.

Funimation has since announced the release dates for Episode 14 & 15 will be on March 21. Learn more here.
