A new post-apocalyptic thriller starring Alicia Silverstone has recently wrapped production in Montana, according to an exclusive report at Deadline.
The “Clueless” star was a big name in the 1990s when she stole the show in several Aerosmith videos and brought back the valley girl accent as a trademark of sorts. But now we get to see Silverstone as a “threatening outsider” who aims to destroy an off-grid utopia after an apocalyptic event in the upcoming movie SHTF.

The father and son who run the bunker (Stephen Moyer and Drew Van Acker) have been living in peace before Silverstone’s character comes along. It’s not clear how long after the apocalyptic event this story takes place, but Deadline reports that the father/son team had been surviving together for 20 years.
Silverstone might seem like an unlikely character to play the bad girl in a post-apocalyptic thriller like this, but she did make her big screen debut in 1993’s The Crush, a film about a manipulative lolita who turns a man’s life upside down when he refuses her sexual advances.
SHTF is directed by Drew Mylrea and written by Josh Janowicz with Sunil Perkash, Colin Bates, Akaash Yadav and Michael Jefferson sharing the producer’s chair. Perkash worked with Silverstone previously in the film Blast From the Past.
While the official announcement for the film was released today, things are still fairly hush-hush beyond the Deadline article. Heck, there’s not even an IMDB page set up for it yet.
But you can bet that we’ll keep our eyes on this one and let you know when we hear more.
