A Quiet Place 2 is releasing in theaters today (May 28), but is the new movie going to be available to watch on HBO Max, Netflix, or Amazon? Although the movie will be available for streaming in a little more than a month, it’s not going to be available on any of those services in the U.S.

A Quiet Place Part 2 Won’t Be Available on HBO Max, Netflix, or Amazon
There was a bit of confusion among viewers about how to watch A Quiet Place 2, since so many people are used to watching recent new movie releases on HBO Max. But it’s actually only Warner Bros. movies that are being released on HBO Max. A Quiet Place 2, meanwhile, is a Paramount movie so it won’t be released on HBO Max or Netflix.
In 45 days after its initial movie theater release (on July 12), you can watch A Quiet Place 2 on Paramount Plus (formerly known as CBS All Access.) You can sign up for the service now if you want to watch other post-apocalyptic shows, like The Stand, while you wait.
Interestingly, because the movie is releasing on the Paramount streaming service so quickly, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are seeking additional compensation from Paramount Pictures, IndieWire reported. The actors have a contract that compensates them based on box-office performance, which will be less since the movie is shifting to streaming so fast. Discussions are ongoing.
The movie’s release date has changed many times. It was originally supposed to debut on March 20, 2020. Then it was delayed to September 4, 2020, due to the pandemic, and then changed to April 23, 2021. It was then pushed back to September 17, 2021, before finally landing on May 28, 2021, when it actually released in theaters.
As for releasing on Amazon, the movie may eventually be available there, but it will take some time. The original movie A Quiet Place can be rented on Prime Video now.
The synopsis for A Quiet Place Part II reads: “Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”
