Adam Taylor, who is in charge of music for The Handmaid’s Tale, posted this photo from the finale. Alert readers shared it on r/coconutsandtreason, a great subreddit for people interested in freely discussing spoilers from The Handmaid’s Tale. The photo below was lightened by u/bussbeckman.
Just who is in this photo with June? Some think it’s Mrs. Lawrence, but others think she’s far too small to be her (and wearing pink), so they say it has to be a child. Perhaps the Lawrences adopted a child? Some think this is definitely not Hannah because of her hair, but others are convinced this is showing June with Hannah at the Lawrences’ home, perhaps wearing a bonnet.
Here’s a zoomed-in version. Does this give you a better idea?

In an story on TV Line, Michael Ausellio said after Episode 8 aired: “I’m glad to report that after next week’s (even more rough on June than normal) episode, our heroine finds new purpose, a new mission and — perhaps most importantly — some serious buy-in from one of Gilead’s Powers That Be. BONUS SCOOP: You might think you know what muffins and scones mean, but that’ll change by the end of Episode 10.”
On Reddit, one commenter said that muffins and scones refers to either adults and kids or just children.
Another alert Redditor pointed out that a character named Kiki is on the IMDB cast list, played by Kate Moyer. She’s listed as only appearing in Episode 13, so perhaps she is in the photo above.
The biggest spoiler (if true) for the finale involves photos we’ve seen of children getting on a plane in Gilead. The photo is below, and it was shared on CoconutsAndTreason subreddit here but it actually originated from a Facebook group with heavy spoilers.
Rumors are all over the place about what these pictures mean. Some think it means that children are going to be rescued from Gilead and brought to Canada by the underground resistance (but maybe Hannah won’t be in that group.) Other rumors think it’s all a ruse, and those children are going to be diverted to new locations in Gilead, leaving the resistance thinking they succeeded when they really didn’t. Still others think it’s a different kind of misdirect, and these pictures were “leaked” to make us think that children were escaping Gilead, but in fact, there will be some kind of trade of children with other countries and these children are going TO Gilead. That would be horrible, but not outside the realm of possibility.
Although this isn’t related to the plane spoilers, some people think that Emily may be sent back to Gilead, and Nichole may be sent back too. The last time we saw Emily she was protesting and revealed that she was the one who brought Nichole back and she knew the mother’s wishes. If Emily gets a bigger public voice in Canada, then some fans think she might be sent right back to Canada as part of some kind of weird deal with Gilead. Remember: we learned in a previous season that some countries were even considering some kind of Handmaid exchange program to help with their countries’ birth rates. It would be horrifying to see Emily returned, but it’s a theory that is currently being debated among fans. What do you think?

In the tweet above, there’s one photo that looks like June may have a cut or bruise on her face. Some think June looks pregnant in the photo below, but I’m not so sure about that:
