Now that Rick and Michonne’s The Ones Who Live has ended, we can already expect more The Walking Dead content this summer. AMC has published a video on The Walking Dead Youtube channel that revealed an exclusive look at TWD: Daryl Dixon The Book of Carol, the second season of the spin-off. And we only have a few months to wait, as the preview came with the news of a summer premiere.

Summer Release for TWD: Daryl Dixon The Book of Carol

The channel has added in their description “Will Daryl and Carol finally reunite? Find out this summer on AMC and AMC+,” and included the hashtag #TWDCaryl. Carol and Daryl, who are quite literally the best of BFFs in The Walking Dead Universe. This is a very wholesome hashtag, for sure.

Given the premiere of the first season in September, it’s probable that Daryl Dixon Season 2 will air around August. Reports suggest that the second season will consist of six episodes, mirroring the structure of Season 1. And for fans of Daryl and Carol good news is resurging, as a third season is currently in the works and is anticipated to debut in 2025. Scott Gimple, The Walking Dead showrunner, confirmed this during the 51st Saturn Award.

The book of Carol’s initial three episodes were written by Shannon Goss, Keith Staskiewicz, and Lisa Zwerling, an American physician who has worked on ER, while episodes four to six were authored by Jason Richman and David Zabel, with Laura Snow credited for the storyline of episode six.

As the central character of the series, Norman Reedus will maintain his top billing in the second season. One significant change in the cast, eagerly embraced by fans, is the return of Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, reprising her role after portraying the character throughout all 11 seasons of The Walking Dead.

Joining them are Louis Puech Scigliuzzi portraying the proclaimed “Messiah” Laurent Carriere, Laïka Blanc-Francard as Sylvie, and Eriq Ebouaney as Fallou. Season 2 will also introduce characters from the antagonistic Power of the Living Group, including Marion Genet portrayed by Anne Charrier and Stéphane Codron played by Romain Levi. The remaining cast features Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Anne Charrier, Clémence Poésy, Romain Levi, and Laika Blanc Francard. Showrunner David Zabel leads as executive producer alongside a team including Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman, and Steve Squillante.

AMC’s synopsis for Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, reads “The new season picks up where The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon left off, following fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. They both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest.”

We can’t wait to see Carol back on the screen! And with Daryl and Carol both of the screen, we are promised to see a whole lot of action.
