The first expansion for Blade Runner The Roleplaying Game has been released as of April 2nd, 2024. Titled Case File 02: Fiery Angels, the expansion will lead a team of Blade Runners to a suspect captured trying to sneak into the Wallace Corporation Memory Vaults. Blade Runners will have to surpass a number of difficult challenges and choices as they come face to face with Replicant technologies.

Case File 02: Fiery Angels is an independent roleplaying adventure that continues where Case File 01: Electric Dreams (from the Blade Runner RPG Starter Set) left off. It comes in a boxed set that includes:

  • A fully illustrated book of scenarios with everything you need to run the expansion – character profiles, important locations, and a set of leads for the Blade Runner team;
  • Seven maps in full colour;
  • Eleven player handouts that showcase Esper photos and in-world items;
  • Fourteen custom cards for non-player characters.

The expansion is available through the Free League webshop and retailers across the world. Digital copies are available in PDF format on DriveThruRPG and as a module for the digital RPG program Foundry that includes all of the handouts, maps, and cards available in the boxed set.

Blade Runner The Roleplaying Game released in December of 2022 with a Core Rulebook and Starter Set by Free League Publishing and Alcon Entertainment. It puts players in the roles of a team of Blade Runners in Los Angeles in the year 2037. The Wallace Corporation has recently released a new series of Replicants known as Nexus-9. Players will start as members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rep-Detect Unit as either human or Replicant. The Blade Runner RPG is based on Free League’s Year Zero core system and uses a series of dice, attributes, and skill checks to measure success or failure.

The Blade Runner RPG has won several awards, including the Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards at the UK Games Expo and is an Electrum Best Seller on DriveThruRPG. It is based on the popular neo-noir sci-fi film Blade Runner, originally released in 1982, and its sequel, Blade Runner 2049 released in 2017. The original film is set is a dystopian future in Los Angeles in 2019 where genetically engineered entities known as Replicants are manufactured by the Tyrell Corporation. It follows the story of Rick Deckard, a retired Blade Runner tasked with hunting down rogue Replicants. As Deckard delves deeper into his assignment, he is faced with questions about his own humanity and the complexities of identity, ethics, and the fundamental nature of existence in a world dominated by corporate power and technological advancements.
