Members of Congress’ House Oversight Committee will finally be receiving their long-awaited classified UFO briefing with the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (ICIG) this month. The meeting was originally scheduled for November and then was delayed. There’s good reason to hope that this meeting will prove more fruitful than the previous classified meeting with the Inspector General of the Department of Defense.

The ICIG Will Be Discussing David Grusch’s ‘Urgent & Credible’ UAP Retrieval Program Claims
The meeting is with members of the House Oversight Committee and the Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (ICIG), Axios reported.
While early reports indicated that this meeting would take place on January 9, Axios is now saying that it will take place on January 12, according to two sources. The January 12 date tracks with what Rep. Tim Burchett’s spokesperson told D. Dean Johnson back on December 21.
The meeting is classified and, unfortunately, will not be open to the public. It will take place in the Office of House Security, Axios noted.
This Meeting Could Be More Fruitful than The One With the DOD Inspector General
David Grusch will not be at the meeting, reported Joe Khalil of News Nation, just as he was not at the meeting with the DOD Inspector General.
However, there is reason to believe that this meeting may prove more fruitful for Congressional members attending than the previous one with the DoD Inspector General.
The DoD IG meeting took place on October 26, 2023, in a SCIF (short for “Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility”) and was attended by Congressional members including Rep. Robert Garcia, Rep. Jared Moskowitz, Rep. Tim Burchett, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, and more.
Representatives were disappointed in the meeting, as Post Apocalyptic Media reported at the time, noting that they were told they didn’t have clearance to learn what they wanted.
Luna said at the time: “We’re being told we don’t have access to these programs, which defeats the purpose of what we’re supposed to be doing.” She summed up the meeting by saying they learned “nothing new” and referring to it as “pointless,” Askapol reported.
Burchett summed up what he learned in the meeting in a quote to Askapol and other reporters as “Absolutely nothing.”
But the upcoming ICIG meeting might turn out differently.
As Post Apocalyptic Media previously reported during an in-depth look at Grusch’s claims, Grusch first provided evidence in July 2021 to the Department of Defense Inspector General, alleging that information about a UAP retrieval and reverse engineering program was being illegally withheld from Congress. He retained attorney Charles McCullough III, a former Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG), to represent him in filing a statutory whistleblower complaint to the current Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (ICIG), Thomas A. Monheim.
McCullough filed Grusch’s complaint in May 2022 and Grusch testified, under oath, about what he knew. By July 2022, the ICIG ruled that Grusch’s assertions about the secret retrieval program were urgent and credible. As Grusch has previously clarified, the ICIG was not talking about his retaliation complaints when making the “urgent and credible” statement, but about the assertions of a secret program being hidden from Congress.
Compass Rose Legal Group, PLLC – McCullough’s Law Firm wrote: “The ICIG found Mr. Grusch’s assertion that information was inappropriately concealed from Congress to be urgent and credible in response to the filed disclosure.”
The ICIG Dropped a Hint About Investigating Grusch’s Claims
Another reason to have hope for this next meeting is found in a letter the ICIG sent to Rep. Burchett and others, as Post Apocalyptic Media previously reported. Many people dismissed the letter since the ICIG had written: “As a matter of discretion, IC IG notes that it has not conducted any audit, inspection, evaluation, or review of alleged UAP programs within the responsibility and authority of the DNI that would enable this office to provide a fulsome response to your questions.”
But this statement was actually a list of all the ICIG’s official responsibilities but one: investigations.
For example, a DNI webpage called “Office of the Intelligence Community Inspector General” notes about the ICIG: “In accordance with Title 50 U.S.C.A. Section 3033, the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC IG) conducts independent and objective audits, investigations, inspections, and reviews to promote economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and integration across the Intelligence Community.”
Thus, the ICIG letter listed all of these divisions (inspections and evaluations are part of the same division) but notably left out “investigations” in its letter to Burchett. Some believe this is a clue that the ICIG is indeed investigating Grusch’s claims. You can look more into this analysis in our story here.
There are several reasons to hope the upcoming ICIG meeting on January 12 will provide members of Congress with some important details about Grusch’s claims. However, since this is a classified meeting, it is possible that the public won’t learn much (if anything) about what is shared.
Post Apocalyptic Media will be following this meeting and reporting on what congressional members share after it’s over.
