What is The Last Of Us About?
Based on the video game The Last Of Us, the events of the series take place twenty years after the destruction of contemporary society. A tough survivor named Joel is recruited to help a young girl named Ellie, who is just 14 years old, escape a restrictive quarantine zone. What begins as a simple assignment quickly escalates into a grueling and excruciating adventure for the two of them as they are forced to travel across the United States and rely on one another for survival.
The roles of Joel and Ellie are going to be played by Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Wonder Woman 1984) and Bella Ramsey (HBO’s His Dark Materials and Game of Thrones).
Gabriel Luna (True Detective) will play Tommy, Joel’s younger brother and a former soldier. Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us video games, The Flight Attendant) will play Marlene, the commander of the resistance, and Anna Torv (Fringe) will play Tess, a smuggler who is also a tough survivor.
Craig Mazin, known for his work on HBO’s Chernobyl, and Neil Druckmann, known for his work on The Last of Us and Uncharted video game franchises, are the show’s writers and executive producers.
We’re excited about this series and can’t wait to see how the show compares to the video game.
