The Handmaid’s Tale is somehow already at the season finale, and it’s far too soon. How will they possibly wrap everything up in just one episode? You’re no doubt wanting to see all the details you can about The  Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Episode 10. In the article below, we’re providing trailers that reveal major storylines in the finale (including a trailer that wasn’t shown in the U.S.)

Minor spoilers are below for S5E10 based only on trailers and Hulu’s released synopsis and title.

The New Episode Is Called ‘Safe’

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Episode 10’s title is “Allegiance.” This one looks like it’s going to be really intense. And being the finale, I have no doubt that it will end on a giant cliffhanger.

The synopsis reads: “Under threat, June must find a way to keep herself and her family safe from Gilead and its violent supporters in Toronto.”

It’s interesting how the synopsis focuses only on June, with no mention of Commander Lawrence, Nick, Aunt Lydia, Janine, Serena, or any of the other major players.

The synopsis gives me hope that June won’t rethink her decision not to immigrate to New Bethlehem. But I wonder if there’s a chance that she and Luke will move to a different country entirely?

Trailers for Season 5 Episode 10 Include an Israeli Trailer from HBO

Once again, we have two big trailers to enjoy this week. First, here’s the official trailer from Hulu.

This trailer is short but powerful.

We get a huge revelation about Janine. Aunt Lydia’s told her she’s getting another posting, and Janine really doesn’t want it (understandably.)

But it turns out that she is being posted with the former Mrs. Putnam and Commander Lawrence! This means that she probably won’t have endure any Handmaid abuse, but she’ll be able to be close to her daughter.

Then we hear June lamenting on how much Canada is changing (after the violence at the memorial, she’s got to be scared out of her mind.)

There’s a quick moment with June and Luke and Moira, reacting to something, and then we see Nick on a bridge meeting with Tuello.

And we get this scary shot of June, looking like she’s in pain:

Gilead wants June to suffer, Nick tells Tuello, and he needs to know that Tuello will protect her. So it looks like maybe Nick will work with Tuello if he gives Nick that guarantee about June?

This week we also got to watch the Israeli trailer/HBO Asia trailer again, which isn’t shown in the United States. It always gives us a bit more insight into what’s about to happen. This is an official trailer that is publicly released in countries where HBO releases Handmaid’s rather than Hulu.

The trailer is here and we’re embedding it below.

First, we see Nick confronting Commander Lawrence about June being at the rally where shots were fired.

It’s an odd exchange and we really don’t learn much. I know some fans have been wondering if Gilead is behind the protesters in Canada. That isn’t revealed in this exchange, but I’ve enjoyed that theory.

We also get the same scene from the Hulu trailer where Aunt Lydia tells Janine she can’t stay indefinitely without another posting.

And while Hulu’s trailer revealed that Janine is going to be a Handmaid for Naomi Putnam and Commander Lawrence, this trailer gives us the briefest of glimpses of Aunt Lydia’s conversation with Naomi about it, telling her that she’s going to be a model of forgiveness.

This other trailer also shows that scene from Hulu’s trailer, where Nick and Tuello are meeting and Nick wants to make sure Tuello keeps June safe. But Nick isn’t convinced that Tuello can do it. Then there’s a quick shot of a car following June, but the context of that scene isn’t clear.

It looks like this is going to be an episode we’ll be talking about for some time.
