If you’re not familiar with the YouTube channel IAmCrusty, I’m about to rock your world.
Crusty is a character (although I’m not sure if he’s acting most of the time) who ventures throughout various VR games wreaking havoc on unsuspecting NPCs and baddies in the most insane ways possible. While he’s usually slashing his way through Hitman VR or Skyrim VR, this month he’s playing as a character named Candle Sugarcup in Fallout VR where he has joined up with his trusty monkey-in-a-spacesuit, Julia.
“You hear that?” Candle asks Julia. “It sounds like gunfire. We must be close to the school.”
See, Candle just wants young Julia to get some proper schooling in the wasteland, but raiders and a guy in a silly hat (Preston Garvey) keep distracting him from his mission.
“Hey, up here, on the balcony,” Garvey calls down to Candle. “The raiders are almost through the door. Grab that laser musket and help us. Please!”
“Uhhh, no thank you,” Candle answers, visibly wringing his hands with anxiety. “I’m trying to take my little darling Julia to her first day of school.”
And then there’s a deathclaw.
I’ve been a big fan of Crusty’s unique brand of humor for a long time now, and it’s always great to see him playing Fallout VR as it’s not supposed to be played. And with his specialty being VR games, so much of the comedy is really in his arm movements. And there’s even a musical interlude that will live in your head the rest of the day.
Check out his channel for more of these types of videos, as well as his Twitch stream where he does this whole thing as an improv bit. It’s really quite funny.
