Raised by Wolves just aired its Season 2 finale, which was phenomenal. But what’s next for the show? Can we expect a Raised by Wolves Season 3? Here’s everything we know so far about the show’s future and a third season. We’ll start with the bad news and then move on to the good news.
Raised by Wolves Isn’t Renewed Yet for a Third Season
First, the bad news…
Raised by Wolves isn’t yet renewed for a third season. This was confirmed in an EW article and by many other sources too.
It’s hard to believe that a show this brilliant hasn’t been renewed yet. But that’s where we are.
Raised by Wolves fans, meanwhile, are trying to do whatever they can to help the series get renewed. In a Reddit thread here, one fan (u/glassed_redhead) suggests following the show on Instagram and Twitter, and giving the episodes high ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes.
It’s also been suggested by fans that maybe the AT&T’s merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery is affecting decisions. In December, AT&T announced that it was going to combine its subsidiary WarnerMedia with Discovery, Forbes reported, after a positive IRS ruling. The new company will be Warner Bros. Discovery. Part of this change is also going to include merging the streaming apps HBO Max and Discovery+, Digital Trends reported this month. This app merger won’t happen right away, but it’s the endgame goal.
HBO hasn’t said anything official about the merger affecting renewal decisions, this is just a guess that some fans have offered as to why the announcement hasn’t been made yet.
The Showrunner Is Already Working on Raised by Wolves Season 3
Now for the good news. The writers and directors are moving full steam ahead when it comes to planning for Season 3.
In an interview with EW, showrunner Aaron Guzikowski said the series hasn’t been greenlit yet for a third season, but he’s already working on it anyway.
He said: “I’m working on season 3 now. It hasn’t been officially greenlit, but I am working on it. And quite a bit is worked out. Quite a bit is worked out beyond that, and there’s quite a bit that will change, I think. I’m just looking for the best possible way to tell the story, so every day that changes a little bit to make it better, I think. But the plan and the themes and the point of it all, the soul of it, is definitely worked out.”
Abubakar Salim, who plays Father, did an AMA on Reddit the day of the Season 2 finale and shared that he wants five full seasons, just like the fans. One viewer asked, “Does the network know there will be riots if we don’t get all 5 seasons?” He answered, “I will be leading the riot. ;)”
At the moment, unfortunately, these are all the details we have about a Season 3 of Raised by Wolves. But based on fans’ widely favorable response to the show, it seems likely that we’ll be getting good news about Season 3 soon.
