Writing Contest 2021

Our short story writing contest has ended and it’s time to show off the winners!

Back in September, we launched our first annual Post Apocalyptic Media Short Story Contest to help showcase indie writers in this genre who aren’t yet published. The stories needed to be short (3,000-5,000 words) and somewhat in the post-apocalyptic genre.

I have to say, this one was tough. We were not only overwhelmed with entries, but we were overwhelmed with so many GREAT entries. We could have easily made this top three list into a top ten!

And I realized two things with this contest: the quality of writing makes me proud of the Post Apocalyptic Media community, and I am beyond excited to do this again next year!

So let’s take a look at those entries. Click the title of each to read the story in its entirety.

Third Place

Raiding the Broken World by Koen ter Horst

Second Place

The Memory Store by Mandy Shunnarah

First Place

Lost Souls by Stefan de Koster

A hearty congratulations to each of the winners and a special thank you to everyone who submitted a short story!
