Finch is on course to become one of the year’s biggest post-apocalyptic hits when it releases on AppleTV+ in November, and a recent promotional movie poster for the film shows us a bit more about the visuals we can expect.
Finch is the story of an ailing robotics engineer (played by Tom Hanks) who creates a sophisticated android (Caleb Landry Jones) to care for his dog in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event.
Originally named BIOS, Finch was first announced in 2017 and was scheduled to release on October 2, 2020. It was delayed in June of 2020 to release in April 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic theater closures, and was delayed a second time for an August 13, 2021 (then August 20th) release. The fourth (and hopefully final) delay pushed the movie to a November 5th release on AppleTV+.
This promo poster is especially interesting because it shows Hanks’ time-worn spacesuit-like jumpsuit, the pieced-together Jeff (the android), and the cutest little Benji-like dog you’ll ever see in the apocalypse: Goodyear.
Finch also stars Samira Wiley as a survivor named Weaver, Laura Harrier as Linda, and Skeet Ulrich as Sam.
Legendary director/producer Robert Zemekis was named as executive producer early on, as well as Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik who will be joining other heavyweights like Blade Runner and Alien writer Ivor Powell.
