With season 3 still looming on the horizon, Snowpiercer’s Daveed Diggs made the official announcement today that the popular ice-pocalypse TV show has been renewed for a fourth season.
With his co-stars “cloaked mysteriously in the atmosphere” behind him on the train, Diggs made the announcement via a video on TNT’s YouTube channel earlier today.
“We’re coming to you from our phenomenal set here in Vancouver,” Diggs says in the video, further describing how Season 3 is almost ready to wrap production with the cast members behind him. Back there we see Bennett (Iddo Goldberg), Till (Mickey Sumner), Zarah (Sheila Vand), and Alex (Rowan Blanchard).
In the trailer itself, we see those same stars, plus Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) and Josie (Katie McGuinness) as well.
“But wait,” Diggs continues, “We have news. We’re announcing to you right now, today, that we have been greenlit for Season Fooooouuuuuuurrr!”
“It only gets bigger and more Snowpiercerier,” Diggs promises to the amusement of the cast members behind him.
While the trailer doesn’t show much in the way of clips from Season 4, that’s understandable considering they haven’t even finished Season 3 yet. And I’m assuming that there will be some major changes in Season 4 that we can’t even begin to understand right now with only Seasons 1 and 2 under our belts.
Interestingly enough, one of the main draws of the show originally, Jennifer Connelly, is not listed as a star on IMDB’s Snowpiercer page. While those top three cast member slots on that page are usually reserved for those stars who appear the most (Connelly was only in 16 of the 21 episodes so far), we can’t help but wonder if her role will be dwindling in Seasons 3 and 4. I’m sure we’ll see more of her as the train visits her research facility, but the big question is if she’s even still alive.
Either way, you can bet that we’ll have our usual extensive coverage of the show when it resumes for Season 3 and into Season 4!
