Popular YouTuber Mark “Markiplier” Fischbach is working on a brand new post-apocalyptic TV thriller called The Edge of Sleep, based on a story from his podcast.

Filming on the new series starts this week in Canada and the show itself is expected to premier as early as next month, according to Dexerto.com. Markiplier will not only executive produce the show, but will also star along with Analeigh Tipton (Crazy, Stupid, Love) and Eve Harlow (Maya Vie from The 100).

The story revolves around a night watchman who discovers that everyone who fell asleep the night before had died and it’s up to him and his group of survivors to stay awake long enough to figure out what’s going on.

Markiplier is one of YouTube’s biggest success stories racking up over 29 million subscribers in only 9 years. His channel primarily focuses on Let’s Play gaming videos with the occasional comedic performance thrown in. The Edge of Sleep will mark his first scripted TV venture.

And while Fischbach will be quarantined in a hotel until the Canadian government says it’s OK for him to go start making his show, he says that he plans to make several videos of “questionable content” during his hotel lockdown. So you have that to look forward to!
