Netflix’s Tribes of Europa dropped its second trailer today as the futuristic sci-fi adventure prepares for launch on February 19th.
Tribes of Europa takes place in the year 2074, 45 years after society collapsed and the Middle Ages returned to the planet. The series follows three siblings from the peaceful Origines tribe who set out to forge their own paths in the wreckage of old Europe.
This latest trailer, mostly in English-subtitled German, shows us more of the power struggle between the dystopian militant class and the scattered tribes. A mysterious floating cube takes center stage, but we’re not quite sure what its role is yet. “Don’t let it pass into the wrong hands,” a dying man says as he passes the cube to its new owner.
The show has already been likened to The 100, but I think that’s mainly for the facepaint and young-adult vibe. The producers of Netflix’s other recent German series Dark are on board for this one too, so that’s certainly promising.
We gave Tribes of Europa our most anticipated award in our 2020 Boomie Awards, so you know we’re excited about its release, but this new trailer has us even more pumped. There seems to be even more post-apocalyptic garb, landscapes, and action than we even expected.
You can catch Tribes of Europa February 19 exclusively on Netflix.
