We’re back with this week’s podcast episode where we discuss deadly AI, practical prepping, and the first part of our in-depth look at the Boomie Award winners for 2020.

Derek starts off the show with an introduction to one of our favorite new features on the site: our new Discord server. Discord is a way for people to chat in rooms separated by topic, so we have rooms for movies, TV shows, games, books, and much more. There’s even a voice chat room if you’d rather not type. It’s been a blast connecting with our community so far!

Then we get into the scary notion of rogue AI outsmarting humans and taking over the world. Is it possible? Spoiler alert: YES.

And we end the show with our discussion of the first six categories in our 2020 Boomie Awards. You’ve read the article, now see what we have to say about each category. Also be sure to catch next week’s podcast where we’ll cover the remaining six topics!

You can find the YouTube playlist of the video version of the podcast here and the audio version embedded below or here. We also have links to both versions on the top menu bar of the main website.

Shawn has been infatuated with the post-apocalyptic genre since he wore out his horribly American-dubbed VHS of the original Mad Max as a child. Shawn is the former Editor-in-Chief at Massively.com, creator of the Aftermath post-apocalyptic immersion event, and author of "AI For All," a guide to navigating this strange new world of artificial intelligence.
He currently resides on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere with his wife and four children.
