It can be really tough to wait a week for the next Attack on Titan episode. So while we’re waiting on Episode 2, let’s look back on one of the best moments from Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 2 and all the memes it inspired. Yes, I’m talking about that scene with Reiner where he talked about Sasha and her potato being one of the worst offenses to humanity that he witnessed.

Here are some GREAT potato memes from Season 4 Episode 2 of #AttackonTitan. 😄 Share on X

This article will have spoilers for the episode, but the article itself is manga-spoiler-free. Please don’t add spoilers from the manga in the comments. Thanks. 🙂

Reiner’s Speech Is Perfect for Memes

Probably the best source of memes can be found in Reiner’s speech to his family, where he talked about the atrocities he witnessed from the devils of Paradis, especially Sasha and her potato. Some viewers think that he was exaggerating and recalling those “horrors” of the Paradis Eldians so that his family could realize they weren’t the true devils that they had been made out to be. If that was the worst that he witnessed, then they aren’t truly THAT bad and maybe, just maybe, the lines they’ve been fed by Marley are wrong. Unfortunately, this would also mean that Reiner would have to face the true meaning behind the deaths he caused.

But regardless of your interpretation of that scene, there are some great memes ripe for picking.

From Redditor u/Seatin, we present the Top 10 Unforgiveable War Crimes. A horrific act witnesses by Reiner.

In case you don’t recall, it’s referencing this. (And how many of us aren’t truly tempted to do this when eating something we love, haha):

I mean, she definitely didn’t offer him half of her potato. We all saw it. As someone who loves food, I can kind of relate to Sasha. But she was definitely lying when she said it was half of a potato.

Attack on Titan

This was also a much-needed moment of levity in a pretty serious episode, even though the repercussions are still quite dark.

Never forget.

The episode was also quite interesting in how much it humanized Reiner. He is a traitor who has caused unimaginable suffering for Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Levi, and others. He befriended them and destroyed them. But now we see him with his family, concerned about his cousin Gabi going down the dark path he did and one day eating HIM to chain herself to a 13-year death sentence. Seeing him with his family helps us understand him a little better. We may still ultimately think he’s terrible for what he did, but it puts some humanity into his story that we needed to see.

For now though, we’re going to have a long wait until Episode 3.

Me waiting every Sunday for the new episode of aot s4 to get subbed from attackontitan
