Attack on Titan Opening for Season 4

Don't even think about sharing this article.

Attack on Titan is known for having some really great theme songs and opening intros each season, and Season 4 is no exception. But if you’re watching on Hulu, Funimation, or Crunchyroll, then you’re not seeing the subtitles in English that go along with the song. You can watch them here, and we’ll also provide the English lyrics in the text too.

This article will have spoilers for Season 4 Episode 2, but the article itself is manga-spoiler-free. Please don’t add spoilers from the manga in the comments. Thanks. 🙂

Watch the Lyrics as the Video Plays

A lot of viewers have shared that they are getting spoiled on YouTube when they try to watch videos or soundtracks for Season 4. So we’re providing a spoiler-free zone here to watch and read the lyrics in this article. You can read the lyrics as the video plays in the embedded video below.

This version below also has the lyrics, but you have to change the settings to see them.

To see the lyrics in English in the video above (just in case the first video gets taken down), you’ll need to click on the “gear” symbol in the bottom right part of the video. This will bring up settings, where you can then click on Subtitles. Click “Subtitles,” which will bring up a new window, and then click “English.” Note that simply clicking the CC button at the bottom might not be enough to make the lyrics appear. You need to click on the gear icon, as shown in the screenshots below.

After you do those three steps (Click on Gear, Click on Subtitles, then Click on English), you’ll be able to read the lyrics in the video below as the opening song plays.

Here Are the Subtitles to the Opening Song

Here are the lyrics as they appear in the video. Note that the song is actually in English, but you can’t be blamed if you couldn’t really understand that. When you watch it with the lyrics you start recognizing that yes, it’s in English. But sometimes with the chanting in the background, it’s hard to understand.

Let’s start a new life from the darkness

Until the light reveals the end

Sinister faces, growing curses

This is my last war…

Angels playing disguised with devil’s faces (while chanting is heard too)

Children cling to their coins squeezing out their wisdom

Angels planning (playing?) disguised with devil’s faces

Children cling on to their very last coins

Destruction and regeneration

You are the real enemy

War!

(My) War!

(My) War!

Rastis! Rastis! Rastis! Rastis!

As an interesting note, the last part (Rastis! Rastis!) was interpreted by viewers as being “Monster! Monster! Monster! Monster!” But Shinsei Kamattechan has said that it does not mean monster and is, instead, a random sound.

The chanting during the song at the beginning sounds like “La Vidas Vi Vi Vidas.” In Spanish, “La Vidas” means “The Lives.” And “Vi Vidas” means “You See” (more commonly vi la vida.) However, Kamattechan also said that he did not use Spanish in the song either.

The name of the song is “My War” by Shinsei Kamattechan.
