Wasteland 3 developer InXile Entertainment dropped a double-shot of the post-apocalyptic threequel’s Dev Diaries this week with more details on character creation choices, the elaborate storyline, combat surprises, a new vehicle, and more.

In the first video, the game’s lead designer, David Rogers, gives an enthusiastic report on Wasteland 3’s features that set it apart from most other games out there today. One of the stand-out topics is that of choice and how it affects the game overall, whether it be during character creation, questing, or in ways reminiscent of the original Wasteland. “We let you do whatever you want,” Rogers says. “Like in my play-through I kinda killed every merchant that I came across, and now it’s really hard to buy ammo. But that’s totally on me!”

The second video features legendary studio lead Brian Fargo and Senior Writer Nathan Long explaining more about the storyline of Wasteland 3 and how it continues from where we left off in Wasteland 2.

Wasteland 3 is set to launch for Xbox, Playstation 4, and PC on August 28th of this year. Check out both dev diary videos below.
